Whoever smuggles, traffics in, transports, or manufactures drugs shall be investigated for criminal responsibility and given criminal punishment regardless of the quantity involved.

Whoever smuggles, traffics in, transports, or manufactures 1,000 grams or more of opium, 50 grams or more of heroin or methamphetamine, or large quantities of other drugs shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of 15 years, life imprisonment, or death, with confiscation of property.

(Note: China takes an extremely strict stance on drug offenses, including for foreigners. Cannabis is a controlled drug in China — even if legal in your home country, possession, use, or sale in China is illegal.)

走私、贩卖、运输、制造毒品，无论数量多少，都应当追究刑事责任，予以刑事处罚。

走私、贩卖、运输、制造鸦片一千克以上、海洛因或者甲基苯丙胺五十克以上或者其他毒品数量大的，处十五年有期徒刑、无期徒刑或者死刑，并处没收财产。

（注：中国对毒品犯罪采取极为严厉的态度，包括对外国人。大麻在中国属于毒品，即使在本国合法，在中国持有、吸食、贩卖均属违法。）
