1. 240-hour visa-free transit. The scheme now covers citizens of 57 countries (Indonesia added in August 2026). Travellers holding a valid international travel document and an onward through-ticket to a third country/region may enter visa-free at designated ports and stay up to 240 hours (10 days) within the permitted areas.

2. The list of countries enjoying unilateral or mutual visa-free entry has kept expanding in recent years; most allow stays of up to 30 days for tourism, business, family visits or transit.

3. Key reminders: ① visa-free entry never authorizes employment — working still requires a work permit and work-type residence permit; ② register your accommodation within 24 hours of check-in; ③ overstaying a visa-free period is unlawful residence and risks fines or detention (see the Overstay section).

一、240小时过境免签。适用国家已扩展至57国（2026年8月新增印度尼西亚）。持有效国际旅行证件和联程客票、经中国前往第三国（地区）的上述国家公民，可从指定口岸免签入境，在规定区域内停留不超过240小时（10天）。

二、单方面免签、互免签证的国家名单近年持续扩大，多数免签停留为30天，用途限旅游、商贸、探亲、过境等。

三、重要提醒：①免签≠可以工作——就业仍需工作许可与工作类居留许可；②按规定办理住宿登记（入住24小时内）；③超出免签停留时间构成逾期居留，将面临罚款或拘留（见"逾期居留"栏目）。
