For divorce by registration, within 30 days after the registry receives the application either spouse may withdraw it. After that period, both spouses must go together within 30 days to collect the divorce certificate; if they do not, the application is treated as withdrawn. (This cooling-off rule applies only to divorce by agreement, not to court/litigation divorce.)

自婚姻登记机关收到离婚登记申请之日起三十日内，任何一方不愿离婚的，可以向登记机关撤回离婚登记申请。前述期限届满后三十日内，双方应当共同到登记机关申请发给离婚证；未共同申请的，视为撤回离婚登记申请。（仅适用于协议离婚登记，不适用于诉讼离婚。）
