After a road traffic accident the driver must stop at once and protect the scene. If there are casualties, the driver must immediately help the injured and promptly report to the traffic police. If the scene must be changed to rescue the injured, its position should be marked. Leaving the scene (hit-and-run) is prohibited and heavily punished.

在道路上发生交通事故，车辆驾驶人应当立即停车，保护现场；造成人身伤亡的，应当立即抢救受伤人员，并迅速报告执勤的交通警察或公安机关交通管理部门。因抢救伤员需要变动现场的，应当标明位置。驾驶人和当事人应当保护现场、协助抢救，不得逃逸。
